介绍：本人(Kathryn Cheng)目前为 Boston University 大提琴演奏博士候选人, 师承 美国著名大提琴家Rhonda Rider （现为 Triple Helix钢琴三重奏大提琴家, 波士顿音乐学院弦乐重奏主任 及亚洲青年交响乐团大提琴导师, 同时也曾被提名葛莱梅奖- 师承 Zara Nelsova及 Aldo Parisot ）及 Marc Johnson (前葛莱美奖提名四重奏Vermeer String Quartet大提琴家- 师承美国大提琴大师 Ronald Leonard 及Janos Starker).
20岁出国,在美国取得了学士及硕士学位. 曾多次举办个人音乐会或担任乐团首席职位. 出国前, Kathryn曾参与奇美博物馆附设的奇美乐团. 多次参与巡演. 在此期间, 不仅与法国及日本专业音乐家合作,也在奇美博物馆的赞助之下, 获得使用馆内珍藏的古董琴 Stradivari’s “The Pawle” c.1730 的演奏机会. 在博士就读期间,更举办了许多不同形式的演奏会,包含协奏曲, 独奏, 室内乐, 甚至是带演讲形式的lecture recital. 这期间更参与了多次大师课及讲座, 与许多世界级音乐家合作. 更曾在Boston Symphony Hall, Tsai Performance Center, Boston Convention Center及 Huntington Theatre House演出. 在波士顿求学期间,也多次收到广告,短片及电影音乐录制的邀约. 在2017年, 更曾与Boston Chamber Orchestra 合作, 录制 侯孝贤 监制的电影Father to Son (2018 荷兰鹿特丹国际影展入选作品).
Kathryn 有著丰富的教学经验, 生动活泼的教学方式, 有耐心, 并且非常注重学生对音乐的全面发展 (包含读谱, 演奏技巧, 听音技巧, 音乐理论, 音乐历史背景), 绝不是教出 只能跟在老师后面复制贴上的学生. 在美国求学期间, Kathryn曾任教于多个音乐教育机构, 包含波士顿大学 College of Fine Arts, Boston’s Jewish Day School, Youth and Family Enrichment Service Inc. 等音乐教育机构. 并曾帮助学生准备乐团及大学的audition,并取得优异的成绩.
目前因老公工作原因, 初到大华府地区, 希望重新展开音乐教育事业, 目前招收各程度大提琴学生 及 钢琴启蒙到中阶水平的学生. 可用中文/英文授课. 目前对于新生, 有一堂30分钟免费课程的优惠, 同时如果您有其他相关问题, 也欢迎联系我洽谈.

Kathryn was a great teacher for my two boys, ages 5 and 11. She was engaging and able to meet them where they were at in their skill and interest level, while not being too strict or too lax. She also had an incentive system that my boys enjoyed and looked forward to earning through practicing. We only wish we could have had her longer!
